Editorial Reviews Product Description In 1880, Constant Girard creates a chronograph pocket watch with the two additional complications 'rattrapante' et 'foudroyante'. The 'rattrapante' function makes possible the measurement of split-second times or timing simultaneous events or of unequal duration. The 'foudroyante' makes possible to measure fractions of seconds. The astute principle comprises a double barrel to power separately the Foudroyante. More than a century later, GIRARD-PERREGAUX is reediting a 'Foudroyante-Rattrapante' chronograph, this time in a wristwatch thanks to improvements in the field of miniaturization. The eighth of a second chronograph subdial is displayed at the 9 o'clock position, the minute chronograph subdial is at the 3 o'clock, and the two chronograph second hands is in the center (this function uses a 2nd center-seconds hand to record intermediary times while another period of time is being measured). « Back |
